Why Choose Us?
So, you want to skydive. Are you an educated consumer? Have you done your research on the company you're considering jumping with?
Before you make a reservation anywhere (including with us), we strongly suggest that you Google search the town the skydive center is in, followed by keywords like: accidents, deaths, fatalities, injuries, and plane crashes. Make sure you read the News Reports not just the reviews.
Do you ever wonder why some skydive centers have only 1 or 2 accidents, or zero (as in our case), and other skydive centers have a lot of accidents? Skydiving can be dangerous and accidents can happen anywhere, but the more a company does to prevent accidents through training, education, equipment and aircraft maintenance, the safer your skydive will be.
At Skydive Central New York, we do just that.
We make sure our Instructors, Pilots, and Tandem and AFF Students are well trained and educated. Our instructors are full-time, not just part-time (weekend warriors) like many instructors at other skydive centers. We have the most experienced and professional instructors and pilots in Upstate/Central New York.
The owner of Skydive Central New York has over 17,500 jumps! He disseminates this massive amount of experience and knowledge by holding continuing education classes with his instructors on a regular basis, to ensure you get the best instructor possible. We also make sure our planes and equipment are well maintained through routine and preventive maintenance. All of this combined significantly reduces your chance of an injury, or worse.
Because of our efforts, and our reputation, our competitors try to imitate us as "The First Jump Experts®." However, we are the ONLY skydive center in Central New York with a GOOD SAFETY RECORD. To be honest, it's a PERFECT safety record, and we think that speaks for itself. And, not only do we provide a SAFE skydiving experience for our customers, but also a QUALITY skydiving experience with the best views of the Finger Lakes and Lake Ontario.
We make safety and customer satisfaction our priorities. We have many repeat customers because of that… and we hope you'll become one, too!
Don't take our word alone on this… Please read our reviews!
Does 500 jumps sound like a lot? How about 1000 jumps or 2000 jumps? It's really not.
When you do something as dangerous as skydiving your safety and enjoyment directly involve the hands of a skilled professional Instructor.
With a tandem skydive, it is critical that your instructor perform his or her duties with precision. Skydive Central New York only uses full-time skydiving professionals, not a handful of part-time weekend warriors. Our full-time instructors have performed tens of thousands of skydives. Larger volume skydiving centers may have as many as twenty instructors on staff. Some are full-time Instructors who skydive full-time for a living but most are part-time junior instructors who may only teach skydiving on the weekends.
Do you really want an instructor who devotes their attention to skydiving for one or two days out of the week skydiving with you? This "Box of Chocolates" approach to skydiving instruction, where you may or may not have a full-time professional Tandem Instructor, will not occur at Skydive Central New York. Of course, there is no such thing as a perfect instructor, but experience certainly reflects performance. When making your first skydive you SHOULD NOT COMPROMISE! Don't you want to jump with the best?
